Peoria- area Home Sales Up 15 Percent in 1st Quarter

2021 Looms as Busy Year Despite Low Inventory ... home sales in the Peoria area were up 15 percent in the first quarter over the same period last year, according to the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS®. Home sales totaled 1,330 in the first three months of 2021 compared to 1,157 homes sold in the first quarter of 2020. The biggest increases in sales came in Peoria Heights, Creve Coeur, Cuba, West Peoria and Macomb.

Pandemic Fails to Slow Housing Sales in Peoria Area During Challenging Year The family home took on a new importance in 2020. The year that challenged the Peoria area's health, business and employment in unprecedented ways saw home sales climb by 18.3 percent over 2019. During the year 2020, home sales increased by 28 percent in the third quarter and by 29 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the same periods in 2019, according to Peoria Area Association of REALTORS®.

Despite COVID-19, Q3 Stats Prove the Peoria Region is Still Holding Strong, In Fact Breaking Records ... Despite some of the most challenging obstacles in recent history, area home sales broke records in the third quarter, totaling 2,210 closed sales; 28% increase from the third quarter of 2019. Each month of Q3 also month of the second quarter also surpassed any previous months on record.
