New World Realty is a growing concern that’s joining the extensive real estate community of central Illinois. “The Washington-based brokerage firm is new,” said Megan Krowlek, the Realtor® who was a co-founder of New World along with Ryan Tucker.

Krowlek worked for a large real estate team in East Peoria until March 2017 before joining Tucker Home Marketing Consultants, the Washington Plaza-based team that’s evolved to create a new brokerage firm, New World Realty. “We have 10 agents on the Tucker Home Marketing Team at present with an additional four independent agents that have joined the brokerage,” said Krowlek, adding that she handles the technical and administrative side of the new business while Tucker, PAAR’s [Peoria Area Association of Realtors®] Rookie of the Year in 2015, focuses on sales.

“Our physical office for the brokerage is a completely open concept, set up more like a training and education center than an office. We hope to be the office where brokers from any brokerage can come and meet to chat about real estate,” she said. At New World, “I help the agents get their business on track,” she said, pointing out that her work includes working through changes the state of Illinois enacted in August. “There are new rules on how agents can market themselves in regards to the brokerage company they serve,” she said. “Rules have to do with branding. Now the name of the brokerage and agent has to be the same size on the (for-sale) sign. In the past, the agent’s name was larger,” said Krowlek, noting that New World Realty looks to succeed as a local company.

“Our focus is on branding the agent—not the brokerage,” she said “In the Peoria area, 56 percent  of the homes sold by volume were represented by agents working for a brokerage associated with a national franchise. Our goal is to see that (...continued here)
